On Wednesday, CBSE has made an important announcement to all its affiliated schools CBSE says not to sell books and uniforms. They must stop their shops to sell textbooks and school uniforms in their school premises or through selected vendors in the market. They said that CBSE schools are meant only to provide quality education not to indulge in commercial activities.
The announcement is made in favor of parents who could not pay as much more than the fees as per norms of CBSE. But the School are all doing commercial sales for their personal benefits from them.
Convenor of All Odisha Parents’ Association Basudev Bhatt said, “This is a welcoming step by the CBSE as parents having difficulty in paying for notebooks and other accessories. The schools even asking parents to buy uniform and shoes from particular vendors, which is again a violation of the guidelines,”. Keeping in mind these allegations by parents’ district administration conducted raids in private schools. In a school at Rourkela on Tuesday they sealed books, notebooks and other stationaries sold in the school premises.
