CBSE Results 2017 have been delayed for some time. The reason behind may be the orders by High Court not to discard the Grace Marks Policy.
The Delhi high court on Tuesday directed the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to implement its moderation policy, which allows the provision of grace marks to students for difficult questions, for the time being.
Due to this, the board is not likely to announce CBSE Results 2017 of the class 12 board exams on Wednesday as there may be a delay in this process if marks need to be adjusted. The board has not yet released any notification regarding the class 12 result declaration date or time and has not responded to inquiries by Indian Express Online regarding the same.
A senior CBSE official said, “The decision on a quantum of moderation is generally taken two-three days ahead of the finalization of the results. So in case, we need to ready the results for May 27, which is the target right now, moderation process will be initiated on May 25. We are yet to get the court’s order and the HRD ministry will be consulted before the final decision is taken.”
In April, many students awaiting the Class 10 and 12 exam results were taken aback by a decision by the board to scrap its moderation policy with immediate effect. They feared a dip in percentage if no grace marks were awarded for difficult questions. So, by this decision of Court students are happy and stressless. They are ready to wait for the results as it may benefit to their percentage scores.
